Silver, quite simply, doesn't come any purer than this.

he unique quality of the Brazilian Rosewood is complemented entirely by the calibre of the chosen silver. Rather than the acceptable alternative of plated metal, pure solid Argentium 970 silver has been employed throughout the making of all the silverwork.

Since the 13th Century, the standard of silver purity has been sterling at 92.5% pure. Argentium has raised that figure to a remarkable 97%.

Only available since 2008, it has become the worldwide standard for excellence as the purest silver available anywhere in the world. This certainly adds to the beauty of the Heritage Box. But the benefits of using Argentium don’t end there.

As 100% pure silver is too soft to be fashioned into objects, other metals such as copper or nickel are added to make it more resilient. However, when the copper oxidises it discolours the metal. Reducing the copper content and introducing oxidised germanium not only makes Argentium resistant to tarnishing with age, but also as tough as steel.

The exclusivity of the Box is further enhanced by the addition of a solid silver plaque. Each one is individually hallmarked, numbered and signed by David West himself.

Exceptional silver demands the touch of an exceptional Silversmith. Someone at the very summit of their profession. For this reason the responsibility for hand-crafting the silverwork has been entrusted to the world-renowned Richard Fox of London.
